Our Volunteers

The Leura Gardens Festival is an event involving people from the Upper Blue Mountains and beyond. During the 4 days of the Festival, around 200 volunteers will sit at garden gates scanning entry tickets. Others will be assisting at the Headquarters and at the Ticket Sales/Information stand near the old post iffice in the Mall.

Every Festival garden has a gate crew minding the gate, scanning tickets, issuing brochures, giving information, and generally making visitors welcome.

Festival Committee

Each year the Festival is managed by a dedicated committee of volunteers.
The committee comprises Bret Lord as President, Piercarlo Cuneo as Vice President, Martin Scully as Treasurer, Sarah Sloss as Secretary and David White as Public Officer. Other elected committee members are Christine Cuneo, Penelope Martin, Karen Golton-Sullivan and Ivan Rosetti.

In addition, the Committee is supported by:

Malcolm Nicholson who runs the Mall Ticket Office.

Toby Griffin who provides IT support and manages the online ticketing system.

Ben Herman who assists with organising the volunteers' roster.

Brooke Broughton who assists with the rollout of the ticketing system.

Calling for Volunteers

WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY?

Leura Gardens Festival supports the Blue Mountains District Anzac Memorial Hospital and other health related organisations in the Upper Mountains.  Last year we made $240,000 available to the hospital and a range of other charities.  To continue this success, the Festival needs volunteers on each of the gardens opened by the generous owners who make the whole event possible.

Volunteers can assist by being a friendly face in one of the gardens, by selling entry tickets or helping visitors from far and wide enjoy a great Festival experience.

We would love to have you on board as a volunteer. You can select the times you wish to assist during the festival, either morning or afternoon shifts of three and a half hours. Plus, each volunteer receives a complimentary ticket to all the gardens.

Volunteers are not required to have any knowledge of gardening - what's more important is to have a smiling face and a welcoming manner. We are keen to recruit new volunteers for the future.
