BLUE MOUNTAINS CITY ART GALLERY
Exhibition:
Disruptor: for all that matters
3 August – 6 October
Disruptor features fifteen artists who pursue diverse practices, each motivated to create art that responds to environmental concerns by examining ecologically significant Blue Mountains biospheres. In recognition that we are not separate from the natural world, that we are connected, and that our very existence is dependent on a healthy environment, the artists have created works with the purpose of raising awareness of the tender ecosystems that intertwine our neighbourhoods. A careless expanding urban footprint, the most common threat for beautiful mountain habitats, this exhibition seeks to pay homage to the vital role artists play in the environmental movement.

A garden festival that nurtures the community
The Mid-Mountains Garden Festival is a biennial Spring celebration held in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. Private gardens are generously open to the public to raise funds for Hazelbrook Public School, a local primary school.
This year, the Festival proudly celebrates 40 years since it was first established in 1984. It has become a much-loved community event which has continued with the joint efforts of local gardeners, businesses and parents of kids attending the school.
All proceeds from this year’s Festival will go towards an essential upgrade of technology at the school. Come along to support Hazelbrook Public School and experience the Festival over two weekends: 14-15 and 21-22 September.
